The MAX Sport 396 is the perfect choice thanks to its smaller size and advanced "high power" battery technology.

The smaller size keeps the system lighter and more responsive underfoot, for more natural turns, easier take-off and a livelier ride when pumping between sections or connecting waves. With less mass and swing weight in the front of the unit, the board feels easier to turn, pump, redirect and unweight — a noticeable difference for pumping, surfing, downwinding, wing and parawinging.

Why choose the High Power MAX Sport 396? It keeps your MAX setup compact, lower drag, easier to pump and more responsive through turns, while adding about 20% more capacity than the original MAX Sport Battery for longer, more versatile sessions.

Ideal For

Surf sessions where board feel and responsiveness matter

Lighter riders who don't need the largest MAX battery

Winging and parawinging, where a lighter, more compact system is easier to manage

Downwinding, where pumpability, low drag and board control are essential

Riders who want more accessible control and performance from their MAX kit

Anyone who prefers a compact setup with more capacity than both the original Sport and the MAX Travel Battery

Runtime

eFoiling: not recommended due to short runtime

Assist (heavy motor usage): 25–40 minute session*

Assist (light motor usage): 30–55 minute session*

*Runtime varies with rider weight, ability, motor usage, board and foil, conditions, riding style, battery age and temperature.

Tech Specs

Rated Capacity: 10Ah / 396Wh

Voltage: 40V (nominal 39.6V, max 46.2V)

Weight: 1.85kg (4 lbs)

Energy Density: 214Wh/kg

Dimensions: 290 x 75 x 40mm

Compare capacity: MAX Sport 332.64Wh · MAX Travel 356.6Wh · MAX Sport 396: 396Wh · MAX Power (discontinued) 498.69Wh · MAX High Power 594Wh

Compatible With

Foil Drive Assist MAX (40V) — not compatible with the 43V Assist MAX+

40V Fast Charger and 40V Standard Charger

Nose Cone B (the smaller nose cone provided in your kit)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0745/5211/5504/files/FD286-Foil-Drive-MAX-Sport-Battery-396-A.jpg?v=1793897157
