The challenge with parawings was simple — existing single-skin designs offered such a limited wind range that sessions quickly became frustrating. We wanted to create a parawing capable of handling everything from 15–30 knots in the same session, without compromise.
It needed to:
- Drive efficiently upwind
- Stash away effortlessly for true hands-free downwind freedom
Traditionally, those two characteristics don’t naturally coexist.
A dual-skin wing will always fly upwind more efficiently than a single-skin design, delivering greater stability, improved efficiency, and reduced arm fatigue. However, single-skin wings are lighter and more compact, making them easier to stow while riding.
So we got to work.
We partnered with NOVA Paragliders — winners of the 2025 Red Bull X-Alps — and tested extensively across a huge range of conditions throughout New Zealand. That combination of world-class engineering and real-world testing proved to be the perfect development formula.
After extensive refinement in harsh and unpredictable conditions, the Orbit was born — a parawing designed to combine the best characteristics of both single and dual-skin concepts.
Using ultra-light silicone-coated fabric and optimized short-line geometry for effortless stowing, we created a wing that:
- Drives upwind with incredible efficiency
- Packs away seamlessly into our Para Sack Belt system
- Delivers exceptional comfort during long sessions
The PPC Orbit Para Wing is engineered to shed water exceptionally efficiently during take-offs, combining an ultra-light silicone-coated fabric that resists water retention with full trailing-edge openings that allow trapped air and water to escape instantly — helping the wing relaunch lighter, recover faster, and pack down effortlessly.
But one major challenge remained:

While dual-skin wings excel in top-end control and efficiency, they often sacrifice low-end power.
That’s where the breakthrough happened.
